Yast on the System Tray

Feature state

openSUSE Distribution
Rejected Information

Description

Add the possibility to have Yast on the System Tray.

User benefit:

Justification: This would give a faster access to Yast modules to people who use Yast very often.

Thanks for your help and attention!

Usecase

Where:
Left click > Opens Yast main window.
Right Click > Opens the list with the individual modules to select the desired one.

As Yast is a configuration tool, this feature should not be set as standard. An option could be inserted in the "Miscellaneous" section on Yast where it can be enabled.

I dislike this idea. In KDE you can add yast to favorites or pin application to task manager.

Maybe it does not look nice to have the icon of 15 or more modules in your task bar. The idea is to have a clean, easy, and fast access to the feature you want without the need open Yast, click on the referred category, scroll down the section, then click on the "kernel configuration", for instance!
