AS LXDE is meant to be lightweight, installing a large number of "Office suite" type programs by default, would be counter-productive to those seeking a small footprint fast desktop install.
Any "Office" suite based on GTK ought to be a seperate pattern, I'm not sure how they aren't integrated already, doesn't SuSE menu make them available?
The forum seems to have simply ignored this suggestion.

I agree. Genix, please give more details, otherwise we have to reject this.

Make an alternative to LibreOffice in computers: simple (netbook), weak or old.

icons/user_comment.png R. D. wrote: (2 years ago)

That sounds like an alternative office pattern - "Office Lite" for older computers, would meet the user requirement.

Unfortunately the way to use the patterns, isn't immediately obvious and especially to new users of Software Manager. But they would allow a 1-Click install on website for the lightweight suite (I think) so are a good solution really.

than, that already exist, even if it might be improved...
patterns-openSUSE-lxde_office
right now it installs only:
abiword
epdfview
gnumeric
goffice

and is default in LXDE package selection
