Gnome is lacking a easy to impliment Desktop Wallpaper Slideshow. KDE offers an easy option of just selecting a folder. Couldn't this be done in gnome?

There's already such a screensaver, and it's been there for a long time: the "Pictures Folder" one. It just does a slideshow between all the pictures in your Pictures folder (which can you define with xdg-user-dirs, see http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/xdg-user-dirs )

This feature is IMO not about a screensaver but about a wallpaper. It can be marked done with packaging e.g. the package mentioned in 309552.

I think requester asks to allow to write config dialog for screensaver in XUL.

Sorry - xscreensaver and each settings menager for screensavers supports xscreensaver's config dialog descriptors.

Not looking for a Screen Saver. Looking for a rotating Desktop Wallpaper. KDE has this where you pick your pictures and it will change them while you work.

Here's a nice project:

It will download photos filtered by flickr tags, and rotate through them.
