kuickshow for KDE 4

Feature state

Package Wishlist

Kuickshow is a popular image viewer for KDE. Versions are available for both
KDE 3 and KDE 4. Previous versions of openSUSE included it among KDE 3
applications. However, openSUSE 11.1 and openSUSE 11.2 do not include the KDE
4 version.
Please add a kuickshow package for KDE 4.
The KDE 4 version of Kuickshow can be downloaded from its official KDE home
page at
http://userbase.kde.org/KuickShow See also KDE Bug #188539:

I was not aware of openFATE until today; previously I reported this on the Novell Bugzilla as Bug #558894: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=558894

Feel free to close whichever report is in the wrong place (if either).

If I read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_X_Window_System_desktop_environments right, KDE has gwenview. What's wrong with that?

Gwenview is slow to start (several seconds on my machine) and takes up a lot of screen real estate with toolbars, menus, tabs, info panes, status bars, etc.  Kuickshow is a lean image viewer which starts immediately and displays nothing except the image.

I don't like gwenview and are used to kuickshow too, so my vote is for adding a rpm for kuickshow.

There is a relatively new package, showimage, which serves as a KDE 4- and 5-compatible replacement for kuickshow. It would be great if it were available in the official repositories. Until now, it seems to be available via various personal OBS repositories: https://software.opensuse.org/package/showimage?search_term=showimage
