This about about which desktop? And what do you want to achieve?

All desktops.

We want to be able to select right at a main installation dialog a list of desktops to install, not only one. None should be selected by default (or, if that is not desirable, choose a random on on each install).

Ie, replace the current selection dialog, which uses radio buttons, with checkboxes. This would allow to select one, two, three... desktops.

Currently, if we want two or more desktops, whe have to use an advanced dialog.

Ok, now I got it that this is about distro installation. :-)

Disagree

It should look simple and not complicated. With a default desktopĀ
and then chooses to change if not satisfied.

Well, then add an [advanced] button and put the checkboxes there.

This is possible already - go to the software selection and add the patterns you want. Everything else is a nightmare usability wise.
